The most common mistake is that people do not correct their photos
People are mostly not correcting their photography. The most common form is that they ignores the levels and to sharpen either. They rarely entered the picture. Photo do much better when you care about them as much as you do their garden. You can easily adjust levels. Preferably, each color separately but it is probably faster and I’ll say the same thing: that “I’m lazy by nature.” Then go ahead and somehow do a sharpening either a Smart Sharpen, or sometimes a High pass. You may have a different taste than me.
The first graph shows the picture in normal mode and the other adjusted. Note that the adjusted image lacks some of the information and it shows if you intend to make a larger photo. Exposing therefore always the image right from the beginning so you do not have to adjust.

You must present a picture that is much better. You can securely from a mediocre photo into an image that you like to hang on the wall. Photo haze disappears and you get much better contrast.
