Flickr – upload photos, community and much more
Flickr is probably the image service that has received most attention and probably rightly so. The idea is a community where you can meet and discuss the photo. Today Flickr is probably much more than that. You can read about Flickr on wikipedia. Please now that you also say yes to the terms of service (TOS) when you registry.
Many sites and service know of Flickr and uses its API. It´s a great way to let your pics get known. You can also use it if you don´t care that Yahoo have the rights and post them for others to see. You can also let friends and family see your pics and noone else. There are lots of features on Flickr.
You can upload your photos, but you can also submit those to your website or blog easily. At the same time, you can also build a network of contacts and getting to know people around the world through your photos. There are lots of functions and features. I thought I would present some of them. Also there is alot of third parties employing their API like Flickrriver.
Cnet has written an excellent newbie guide for how to boot into Flickr so I do not think I need to reinvent the wheel. Only be careful of knowing your rights when signing up to a service that is free. There is no thing as a free lunch.
