How do I photograph my cats, dogs or other pets?
What is the most important thing to remember when to take photographs of their most beloved family members? Will describe a little what I think and give little hints and tips that are good to think about when to shoot their pets.
Study your pet’s habits and follow the small tracks in before you begin, and shoot. Where they sleep, how they behave when they eat and where those dear family members? Do you have a little clear to you how they behave in their everyday lives, it is much easier to get great natural pictures of your pets. You might think a little about where and when you have the best lighting and the best chance to take a good picture. Take pictures and very often on your pet because they get used to being photographed.
Think about the background when taking a picture. You want a good simple background so that your cat / dog are seen and stand out. If there is a cluttered background they will disappear, focus go away on your pet and you get distracted. Above all, your cat is white so do not take a picture of the bright couch, but try to find a place where you get a dark background. Dark or black animal is supposed to naturally have a light background to be highlighted. If you have a SLR so try to use the aperture to get a blurred background.
Try to be close so you can take close-ups or make sure to get a good zoom lens. It also starts to get good long-zoom cameras like the Canon SX20 IS. In addition, get down on their level to capture their lives from the right angle. Complete the picture with your pet. You do not want to take pictures of your furniture, but it’s the pet that is in focus.
If you are indoors when shooting attempts to avoid flash if possible. Photograph the time of day is the lightest and find the place if it goes where you have enough light. Try before on the spot before you even try to shoot for the animal when it might be a bad time to try different settings. If your pet is black or dark hair, use flash to get the structure. If you are using flash please note that if you have the flash head-on, you get reflections from her eyes. With lightning shoot diagonally from the side so you will not have brilliant cat / dogeye. Without flash, it may be worthwhile to underexpose a little (ie a little shorter than your shutter automatically says that you should use).
When you take pictures of flying bustle try to use “sport” setting, then the camera will choose the fastest shutter speed possible so that the image “freezes”. Do you want to experiment yourself with different shutter speeds to try to “TV” setting. Take many pictures as the chances that you have time to catch the very violent motion in which the image larger. Have you SLR, you can use more shooting or burst mode to take a series of images.
Sneak to your animal and the photograph on the sly to get a natural feeling in the pictures. If you have a special place you want to photograph your pet to hide little candy there or if there is a cat, use catnip, but be aware that they tend to become little weird of it.
