Which ISO should I choose to avoid noisy photo?

noise iso 1000 olympus cupTo get a fuss-free photo, it requires light, but sometimes it’s bad weather or you’re indoors and do not use flash. Then you can change the ISO setting. I have previously written about the ISO and you’re not sure how it works, you can check there.

I have pondered and experimented a surrounding this myself and it is certainly not easy. If we leave it to automatic mode, it is quite usual that the bad light that the images may be much noise. This also differs the most about in the digital compact and SLR. One thing that controls how noisy the pictures is how tight pixels is ethylene. An SLR is usually much larger area than a compact camera. There is also this that allows compact cameras with excessive megapixels can actually give a turbulent picture than one with fewer megapixels. I have heard many complain that their new cameras actually gives worse pictures than their old did.

Generally, one can say that you should choose the lowest ISO number as possible. It is possible to have a low ISO number with poor lighting on the subject is still and using a tripod. Date when you can increase the exposure time.

Raise the ISO
If you hold the camera with your hand, you may need to raise the ISO’s. Because if you do not require a long time and you get blurred images because you are not steady on your hand. Same here if the lighting is bad, it will require a long time and when moving objects are blurred.

Lower the ISO
If you can increase the aperture and let in more light, you can lower the ISO, it means a loss of depth of field. Use natural light sources such as windows or why not light to increase light intake and thus lower the ISO.

Sometimes you have to use flash or other artificial light to get good pictures when the lighting is bad. Flash makes it possible to use low ISO.

Perhaps the picture does not require that it is razor sharp and are actually okay with the noise. Always try too shoot with as low ISO as possible.

Always remember to check your ISO setting
noise iso 1000 olympus cupI myself have taken plenty of pictures and then when I get home, I have discovered that the ISO is set too high and the images are very noisy than they would have needed to be. One tip is to get accustomed to when you set the ISO to a high ISO is always set it back to a reasonably low. This is a very common mistake. To shoot at wrong ISO.

There is also a noise reduction program that subsequently “remove” the noise. It is a truth with modification. Information is lost and it is always best to think that the noise in the picture is as narrow as possible when taking the picture. Here beside you see how I used a filter in G’MIC to GIMP to reduce noise in the picture above. It is far from good. Details disappear and become blurred. Even the better programs destroy information from the original image.

So my final advice. Think before you take the ISO image to use. Try to use as low ISO as possible just to get sharp images.
