This old barbarian custom of celebrating fecundity made christian thus the cross making us really a mixture of cultures. We surely are barbarians into the bones though we do have some civilian manners.

Photo and pictures will be a little less since i got less time to write it. I will be busy with my important family and moving. So don´t count on any new tips but do look into the history using our archives. You are surely finding alot there and some will just what you ordered.

Do take many pictures during these holidays and we will meet again when it is soon autumn. I will then have my desk and we should have moved into our new house. A new chapter in my life.

I have been home with my sick son all day. The only thing i find out i needed was Moviemaker for Windows 7 to make an own timelapse. That software won´t work on XP or older OS. You will need an older version of Moviemaker if you use XP or older software.

What i did was i took the aquarel pad that i usually draw on. Making my drawings with the aquarel technique. Next thing i taped a sand paper on to the table and then put the pad next to an picture i would like to draw. The sandpaper is so that the pad won´t move you can also use double-sided tape.

I then put up my tripod and made sure i wasn´t using any image stabilisation. I actually used my old camera Olympus E-3 but any camera will be ok. Don´t have it set on auto whitebalance and set it instead to any steady white balance. Otherwise it will change during the takes.

You then take a picture and paint some. Take a new picture and paint some. After a while you have taken some photos of you creating in time. You then put the images and set for how long the images will be shown and you will make yourselves a little simple timelapse.

Remember that do small changes since the movie will then be smother even though it will take longer to create. If you want to change the white balance of all pictures use Lightroom and make a preset that you use on all the pictures. They will then change for you and all will change the same.

I have had an breakfast meeting the staff of the Photographic museum and Nordic staff of Panasonic. At first when arriving at Slussen it seemed hard to actually find the museum. But after walking sometime and asking about directions.

The vice VD Charlotte Wiking of the Fotografiska explained to me that swedish people often have a hard time finding them but that people from abroad think its lovely to have the exhibition so central. I now that they for sure is near one of the most famous tourism stroke with all their great views of the city.

Panasonic was presenting their cooperation with the museum and they said it was in the breathe of innovation. They want to innovate and as i was talking to the nordic ceo all i could think is that if only they had in interest the photograph they should be sure they could use the microfourthirds with adapter.

It is strange that Panasonic is not talking about the existing adapters to any old lens that do exist, but i guess they want to sell their own lenses. The strength of micro-4/3 is that there are adapters that make you able to use any lens even though it is Nikon or Canon.

First we visited the exhibition of Joel-Peter Witken and being a very artistic photograph he surely is one end of the scale. It was strange that he is using dead bodies to portrait situations. The absurdity of the photographs took over. The we walked around looking at Annie Leibovitz exhibition for some time talking about photography being the common nominator.

Both Annie and Witken wanted to sit next to Lennart Nilsson at the opening and that shows how big he is abroad. I think myself he is a great photographer who is really innovative with photos of the unseen universe showing pictures of unborn children and likewise.

I have had thoughts to bring blogging to you so that you could have your own photo-blog on site. I think it would though take to much time administrate so i don´t think that is a feature for me.

Even so Wordpress 3.0 brings many new features and i will wait some until i update there are always bugs that must be corrected. I still recommend Ipernity if you want to blog and have your own gallery.

You can also go to the sistersite wordpress.com to see wordpress 3.0 in action. They will always try to be innovative and they always use their site to try the new stuff out. I hope you look for their terms because Wordpress.com is not the same as Wordpress.org.

It recognise how fast the brush is traveling or it will apply different paint. You can have your own set of brush and you can even explore and find your own favorites.

This is a software for the explorius type and you really get anything for free. You have to try out the different brushes and discover how they behave. Some create grass and leaves others are charcoal for the hard working painter.

This program is not if you want to edit your photo but want to create your own picture. I Have tried it earlier on Linux but now it also exist for Windows. You can download it from here. I have tried to paint some aquarel even though it is not complete i like to play around and find new tools.

Overall i like MyPaint as a free painter program even if it is not a proffessional tool you will find hours of fun. You just paint away.

It is essential that you read this and peeking at what you give the service the right to do with the photographs you upload. Always read the Terms of Service!

There are many today who are using Facebook and post their photos there. It’s just that you sign that Facebook may use your material in the manner that suits Facebook. We use more and more of the various Web services, but many are extremely poor at reading what you accept when you enroll to a service.

Facebook is no service I post pictures that I care for. Sure, junk images or images that advertise for me or others, but not my beautiful pictures that I would like to promote the use me as a photographer. Below you can read the Facebook Terms of Service. Note that Facebook have even so changed their service so it won´t claim picture that hard anymore.

By posting User Content to any part of the Site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to the Company an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to use, copy, publicly perform, publicly display, reformat, translate, excerpt (in whole or in part) and distribute such User Content for any purpose, commercial, advertising, or otherwise, on or in connection with the Site or the promotion thereof, to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, such User Content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing. You may remove your User Content from the Site at any time. If you choose to remove your User Content, the license granted above will automatically expire, however you acknowledge that the Company may retain archived copies of your User Content. Facebook does not assert any ownership over your User Content; rather, as between us and you, subject to the rights granted to us in these Terms, you retain full ownership of all of your User Content and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with your User Content.

Ipernity is a service where you can also upload your images have a different approach. The rights need to change your material via its service for it’s features are included in the service. However, they do not have rights to use your materials in their marketing. I have previously written a little about Ipernity .

5.7 Ipernity does not claim ownership of Content you submit, post or display or make available on or through the Service. You or a third-party licensor, as appropriate, retain all patent, trademark and copyright to any Content you submit, post or display on or through the Service and you are responsible for protecting those rights, as appropriate.

5.8 The Content declared private and submitted to the Service might be seen fortuitously from the public, in case of user misuse of the features, pirating, hacking or computer related errors. It is therefore strongly recommended to not submit any confidential, private or sensitive data and information.

5.9 By submitting, posting or displaying Content on or through the Service, you grant Ipernity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, adapt, distribute and publish such Content through the Service, including through RSS or any other content feeds offered by the Service.

5.10 With respect to Content you submit or make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of the Service, the license to use, distribute, reproduce, modify, adapt, publicly perform, and publicly display such Content on the Service solely for the purposes of providing and promoting the specific Service.

Please read the Terms of Service before using a Web service so that you know what is what. It’s like any contract you sign. Make sure you know what you need to know to sign it. Do not throw away your copyright.

The image here has a slight draw to blue because the camera’s white balance setting was awkward, but I photographed Raw format and knew I could change it in my image editing program. It is equally important to strengthen your photo with good photo editing. I do not mean that you are going to nest in front of your computer, but that just as the great masters were hugely skilled in the darkroom as you develop your skills in photo editing to bring your images to exceptionally good photos.

Here you see the picture when I was lifting it with photo editing. I have adjusted the hue and changed the contrast of the image. I am using layer masks to highlight the contrast to emphasize the feeling of frost. In addition, I sharpened the image using high pass and also the restricted to highlight the difference between the sharp frost and the soft toned background.

Brian Auer had a project some time ago on his blog where he let his readers edit an unedited photo and send in their version. You can see how different we look at the pictures and make sure you will find that although the initial situation is the same as different people can edit up completely different images. I think just like Brian that it is 50% and 50% photo editing to create a really good picture.

It is obviously that of photographic techniques to create lots of effects that can be done with photo editing, and vice versa. It is not the point. It is the feeling that you lift up the scene and what you get the audience to experience with your picture that is important. Today’s digital photography has his darkroom in the photo editing program and it is important to you as a photographer to master it.

If you want to take the best pictures so my advice to you that you will devote as much time to develop your photo editing and not just your photography. I see many images that are mediocre, and most of the photographers have missed learning to lift their images with good image editing. You should not sit in front of your computer and edit like hell know that you can never make a bad image to an exceptional. Maybe you can save it to be okay, but never a top image.

Do you know you can simply create your concept map about your photo project. I have here used cmaptools to create and publish a project and links to the photos. You should know that it is simply shown wrong in new Opera. Seems that they still have to work with their browser. I still get no buttons in Ipernity so i have to guess where they are.

This is a simple way to communicate and work together about a simple photo project. You can of course build the map together as long as you save a new copy on the same place. Its also a good way to let others know about your project.

Cmaptools is open source and are of course free to use and you can collaborate about your concepts map. It is really a good collaborate way and you are can work together on a distance.
