Equipment and tools
Use Flickr cameras to see what is most common used.
DOF master – understanding the tools of the trade. Your lenses gives great tables.

Wikipedia has good articles on photography. You will find important concepts well defined, such as aperture, shutter speed and Ansel Adams Zone system, etc..

Various common problems
Ken Rockwell says briefly about how you should think when you expose for snow. Mike MacDonald has a more detailed article.
If I have taken a picture with the wrong white balance, I get a discolored photo, a so-called color cast. You can remove culor cast with XnView.

Dpreview forums – a great forum acknowledged that repeatedly comes with very useful information on new equipment. Beginner’s Questions is one of part of the forum, but you might also find one for your camera Olympus SLR.
Ipernity – here you’ll find forums and are able to upload your own pictures. The best thing is that is not giving your rights to a multinational company like Google. I have started a group for Photo and Pictures. There are dedicated photographers and a great atmosphere. Share your knowledge and questions.

Manuals and other documentation
Canon Europe has a channel on YouTube with a video manual for the Canon EOS 40D in several parts.
